In collaboration with a regional engineering firm, SSMC provided extensive surveying services for FPUC in the Amelia Island Plantation community on the prospective site for a rebuilt electrical substation. Per the client’s request, this substation was to be rebuilt to augment the capabilities provided by two brand new substations already being constructed in nearby Gum Street and Chip Mill.
To facilitate this, we collected a large number of data points from the designated site, first marking all boundaries and recording easements, ensuring that construction would have minimal impact on the surrounding properties. From there, a further Topographic Survey was done, marking off all utilities, pavements, drainages, non-invasive trees, and wetland areas within 100 feet of the survey area also to ensure minimal impact on the surrounding natural environment.
