Gulf Power Company - Transmission Line Easement

Gulf Power

As population densities rise in the state of Florida, so do the demands for affordable, reliable, and available energy sources. Capitalizing on this need and seeking to further protect electric transmission and distribution systems, utility agencies such as Gulf Power Company are constantly seeking opportunities to supply power more efficiently and affordably to their customers.

At SSMC, we have partnered with Gulf Power Company since 2009 in providing Land Surveying & Mapping as well as Subsurface Utilities Engineering (SUE) services as part of our Master Services Agreement. As part of this effort, SSMC team members established the location of boundary corners and reset any missing corners for eight individual parcels along this new transmission corridor in Jackson County. SSMC was also able to assist in describing future easements for acquisition and provide topographic data along the corridor for design purposes. All efforts were performed per Florida Statutes (F.S.) Section 472.027, Standards of Practice for Land Surveying and Mapping Services.

“I had the pleasure of working with a couple of your employees over the past couple weeks. James Murphy and Beau Boyles; very professional and “can do” attitudes. They worked well with the crew from PSI and the task was completed one day ahead of schedule with no underground utilities damaged.”
