HIGHLIGHTS

Resulted in the addition of much-needed 230kV lines between the Kathleen and Haines City East Substations to the Osprey Energy Center in Auburndale, Florida, providing additional stability and reliability to the power provided to residents in the surrounding areas.

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Route Survey
  • Utility Survey
  • LiDAR
  • Layout Survey

SSMC was selected among a small group of fellow surveying firms and engineering firms to survey and collect topographic data along the proposed route of new power transmission lines between the preexisting Kathleen and Haines City East substations and the newly constructed Osprey Energy Center substation on behalf of Duke Energy, one of the largest energy holding companies in the US.

Over the course of this years-long project, our teams collected enough data points along the projected route to create a 3D model of the affected areas, all while keeping in mind the over 300 comments on safety and land use received from the public during the earlier phases of this substantial effort.
