About the Project

CLIENT

Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC)

LOCATION

St. Cloud, Florida

SIZE

Over 20 Miles

HIGHLIGHTS

Resulted in the approval of construction and operation of over 20 miles of 230kV transmission line between St. Cloud and Magnolia Ranch, providing safe and resilient power to both cities as well as to customers in the unincorporated areas surrounding the projected route.

SERVICES PROVIDED

  • Topographic Survey
  • Control Survey
  • Aerial Survey
  • Utility Verification
  • LiDAR

SSMC was brought onboard, alongside local engineering firms, to survey the prospective route of a new power transmission line in between the cities of St. Cloud and Magnolia Ranch. This new transmission line would be to supplement the preexisting network of over 400 miles of transmission lines already in service under OUC.

Drawing on our previous experience with OUC and our work history of over 200 projects with the client, we were very familiar with the work requested—including LiDAR surveying, Sketch and Descriptions, Right-of-Way Surveys, and Platting Services—and were able to leverage that with our highly qualified field teams to deliver the survey results to the Commission without issue.
