As the largest water, wastewater, and reclaimed water provider in Osceola County, Toho Water Authority (TWA) boasts a $139 million dollar yearly operating budget. Subsequently, TWA invests heavily in capital improvements for linear assets to accommodate growing population densities in and around Central Florida. To facilitate design, minimize project delays, and aid in conflict mitigation prior to construction, SSMC partners regularly with Water/Wastewater engineers in their efforts to create appropriate plans and profiles of future pipeline facilities.
Leveraging our Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) division, the design engineer, CPH, Inc., was able to gain a comprehensive understanding of subsurface facilities and existing conditions, during the initial phases of this proposed 30” water main project. By providing utility designation (QL-B) of the two-mile route, utility location (QL-A) in conformance with ASCE C-1-38-02 of 100 test holes/VVH, survey collection of field marked facilities and test holes, all necessary temporary traffic control (T.T.C.), and permitting for associated work within the roadway for both Osceola County and FDOT, SSMC was able to expedite the design and facilitate the project’s overall progress.
