FDEP-Florida Forever Program
The Florida Forever program is the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s (FDEP) lands acquisition program for the purposes of conservation and recreation. Since July 2001, when the program was implemented, nearly 870,000 acres have been purchased by the state. At SSMC, we are continuously seeking opportunities to actively participate in Florida’s success and partner with the agencies responsible for that success.
Since 2004, SSMC has held a Professional Surveying & Mapping Services Contract with FDEP to better support their conservation efforts. For the Garcon Exosystem project, our team performed a boundary survey, recovered any existing monumentation for Section 25-1S-28W, along with the Plat of Sea Pines Subdivision, located all improvements, transferred existing control elevation in NAVD 88 Datum, and located mean high-water boundary in SE corner of the property along East Bay per coordination with FDEP staff.
