Stemming from the original PD&E Study of SR 30 (US 98) from the Santa Rosa County line to SR 393 (Mary Esther Blvd.) in Okaloosa County, the SSMC team worked closely with the Design Engineer, BCC Engineering, LLC, for this multi-lane reconstruction project. The Florida Department of Transportation designated this 6.29-mile corridor as a “Hurricane Evacuation Route,” and determined widening and intersection improvements for three major signalized intersections were necessary.
To support the Engineer in their design efforts, SSMC provided horizontal project control (HPC), vertical project control, alignment and existing right-of-way, aerial targets for photogrammetry, topography/DTM (3D), utility designation (QL-B) & location (QL-A) in conformance with ASCE C-1-38-02, outfall Survey, drainage survey, bridge survey, pond site survey, jurisdiction line survey, geotechnical support, sectional/grant survey, subdivision location, boundary survey, and other supporting field and office tasks as needed to facilitate the design. All efforts were performed per Florida Statutes (F.S.) Section 472.027, Standards of Practice for Land Surveying and Mapping Services, and F.S. Chapter 556, Underground Facility Damage Prevention and Safety Act.
