At SSMC, we are continually seeking opportunities to further strengthen our relationships with our industry’s peers and partners. Subsequently, our team is routinely invited to support firms, which allows for an extension of services or staff capabilities, to better serve the client. As part of this effort, SSMC recently partnered with O’Neal Survey & Mapping, Inc. to support their team in pursuit of Leon County’s Civil Engineering Services contract.
Within the duration of this contract, SSMC’s GIS division prepared deliverables for O’Neal Survey & Mapping, Inc. of nearly 300 stormwater ponds within the County. Leveraging the team’s institutional knowledge and expansive resources, SSMC also provided supplemental field assets and office tasks as requested to ensure timely delivery to the County.
Additionally, SSMC’s GIS division was tasked to migrate the city’s existing CAD data and asset inventory records of potable water, wastewater, & stormwater infrastructure into a comprehensive asset infrastructure GIS database. In support of this effort, crews were asked to field verify and update the city’s GIS descriptive attribute information and approximate locations of facilities, as well as identify and locate additional city-maintained facilities not shown in the city records and photograph each feature and link it to the asset in the GIS database.
