St. Johns Public Schools
St. Johns County has observed rapid growth and expansion over recent years. The Northern portion of the county has received most of the influx with new residents. Subsequently, the St. Johns County School District needed to prepare for increased capacity within the school system. Freedom Crossing Academy is a K-8 school campus with design efforts starting in 2015. Completed for the school year of 2018-2019, SSMC played a critical role in facilitating this campus’ opening.
Engaging directly with the St. Johns County School District, SSMC provided the initial boundary and topographic survey for design. Once the construction plans were released to the general contractor, SSMC worked closely with the GC to provide a construction layout throughout the entirety of the project. While on-site, field technicians adhered to all OSHA, state, and local safety procedures. As the final field efforts were completed, SSMC provided as-built services once layout and construction were finished. All efforts were performed per Florida Statutes (F.S.) Section 472.027, Standards of Practice for Land Surveying and Mapping Services.
